We believe in the power of education-every stylist and colorist, regardless of their level of experience, joins an apprenticeship program when they join our team. This ensures that your Jon David Salon experience is consistent, and of the highest quality.

A visit to one of our salons in Arlington or Springfield gives you a sophisticated in-town salon experience, but in more convenient locations and at a great value.

What is your favorite tip/hair secret you would like to share with clients?
“To achieve fullness and volume for fine hair, spray root lifter and tease the top of the hair, then spray hairspray at the roots for all day volume.

What is something unique that you would like the clients to know about you?
“I deliver creative up-dos for any hairstyle. Whether your hair is short, long, curly, or straight, you will look great!”

What is your favorite tip/hair secret you would like to share with clients?
“For an up-do, it’s best to wash your hair the night before your appointment. If you wash your hair the morning of your appointment it makes your hair too clean and smooth, which makes it difficult to shape and work with.”

“Although I love working with all types of hair textures, I absolutely love working with coarse, curly hair. Having my own hair as experience and practice, I feel as though I can share many curly hair tips that I apply to myself on a daily basis.”

“Have patience and let your hair do what it wants to do. The less effort you put while doing your hair the better it will turn out.”

“Looking to enhance your natural curl? Apply a curl-defining cream to towel dried hair, interlock the curls together, and then dry with a diffuser. This will create a nice, bouncy, and tamed curl.”

“For clients who get color services do not wash your hair for at least a day before your appointment. This will help you avoid scalp irritation when you the color is applied.  For men, please use conditioner- it will moisture your hair and scalp.”

What is Your Favorite Thing About being a Stylist:
“Knowing that each client that sits in my chair has a different personality, hair texture and facial shape than the client before. Having the ability to personalize the color, style or cut to compliment a client is an amazing experience. I love the total transformation process!  There is a line from a movie that has always stayed with me-‘Hair is an accessory and you have the ability to change it.’”

What is something unique that you would like the clients to know about you?
“Fall is my favorite time of the year because of the beautiful foliage, and I LOVE watching the NFL!!!!”

What is your favorite tip/hair secret you would like to share with clients?
“To have tousled/wavy hair, apply a small amount of Redken's “Glass” to partially dry hair. Braid your hair.  The size and the number of braids will determine how wavy your hair will be.  Once your hair is dry, loosen the braids and comb/rake your fingers through your hair.  Let the hair naturally fall. For an evening look, pull hair to one side.”

“Applying olive oil on your hair an hour before you shampoo not only hydrates your hair and scalp, but also promotes blood circulation.”

I received my extensive training under the leadership of David, the owner of JonDavid, over a period of 10 years. I started out as a shampoo assistant and then worked the following 5 years as a personal assistant of David followed by an additional 2 under several other Master stylists’ at JonDavid. Now I am working as a junior hairstylist and have been for the past two years. In addition, over the last 7 years, I received my cosmetology license and attend classes in technique and color by Schwarzkopf, as well as seminars at hair shows on the East Coast to keep up with the latest techniques and hair styles. My specialties are styling, color and foil highlights, and finishing styling the hair.

What is your favorite thing about being a stylist?
My favorite part of the job, especially with clients who already have a vision of what they would like, is to build enough trust so that they feel comfortable giving me the creation freedom to take their initial vision and allow me to build on that by instilling my experience, creativity, and technique resulting in a style that not only exceeds their expectations, but also puts a big smile on their face.

What is something unique that you would like the clients to know about you?
I not only consider myself to be a good listener, but even more importantly, I also learned to ask the right questions, thereby ensuring that my client and I are on the same page. This is critical in creating the best hairstyle and/or color, that bother my client and I agree would best suit your image and needs.

What is your favorite tip/ hair secret you would like to share with clients?
Through my many, many years as a hairstyle assistant, working with all possible types of hair, I refined the art of hair drying to a perfect and very practical science. All you need is two clips, a good brush and a hair dryer, and I will show an easy technique to blow-dry your hair that is not only the quickest but also will give you the results you love.

“For healthy hair, I suggest routine haircuts every 6 weeks. I also recommend a deep conditioning treatment every 2 weeks, especially if you blow dry, curl, or flat iron your hair.“
